Came to Tucson this weekend from East Texas for work and came in on Friday night. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was awesome. We will definitely be back! ���
Food is great, but the service needs work. The wait staff seems to forget you once you've been seated. The atmosphere is perfect if you are looking for Western stage coach stop, which we were.
I use to come here back when I was a kid. It was always for special events or celebrations (like getting good grades in school at the end of the school year). I always had a great time here. I've sense moved away from AZ and traveled all over the world and eaten lots of good food, but I still think of all the wonderful food and memories at this place. I can say with full confidence, this is a world class restaurant with amazing service, a great atmosphere, a long history and excellent food. Give it a try if you haven't yet.
I used to go here all the time and they always had the best beef ribs. The ones I had last night were so over cooked they were crunchy and there was almost no meat on the bones. Really made me think twice about going back there again.
Best steakhouse in Arizona.... My wife and I used to go there frequently, roughly once a month. Ambience, service, and food quality was always top notch. Although my wife has since passed 11 years ago, I have relocated to the east coast. I still dream of the fantastic beef ribs, cowboy beans, etc....best waitperson was our super friendly Sherry...my main question is, does the restaurant still maintain the greatness it had in the past?? I have been to Lil Abners Steakhouse probably about four or five times, the food is marvelous, but I ALWAYS have to take home a box as there is to much food for me. I have to use the GPS as it is in an area that I am NOT familiar with. It is either in Marana or Cortero. But I ALWAYS know when I am coming close because I can SMELL THE STEAKS!!!!! If you like BIG STEAKS and TENDER and TASTY Lil Abners Steakhouse is the place to go. You can eat outside or inside, too.
Had dinner here with my daughter and her husband. It was great! Excellent beef ribs and steak just like it's always been over the years and the many trips here to eat. Salads were crisp and fresh, baked potatoes were huge. Service was fast and friendly with several stops back by our table during the course of the meal to see if we needed anything else. Wow. I have had food poisoning once or twice in my life. But tonight was by far the quickest onset! As I'm laying here waiting for round 6 I thought I'd let you guys know I already wrote a bad review on Trip Advisor--that's before the nausea & diarrhea set in. $45.00 for ex lax. That was spendy. Terrible food. Not so great service. Turn in your food handlers cards right away.
