The only working, privately operated lighthouse in the United States is also home to one of the Cape's most deluxe and picturesque resorts. The inn is located on nine private beachfront acres, and features tennis courts, volleyball, a game room, shuffleboard, miniature golf and a heated pool. Accommodation choices range from smaller rooms for single guests, to honeymoon suites, to three-bedroom, three-bath cottages. Standard rates include full breakfasts, and dinner packages are available.

My wife and I had an awesome dinner and a personal tour right up to the lamp at the top of the lighthouse by owner Greg Stone as they celebrated their 80th year in business! Although Greg is far from 80 years old, he gave us a great history of his grandparents and parents operating the inn, how he and his 4 siblings grew up in the basement and also how he was able to get the lamp relit as a registered lighthouse in 1989 after it went out of service in 1917. This is our third stay at the Lighthouse Inn. I'm almost hesitant to share this little gem... we love the peace and quiet it offers. The little cabins with their ocean views and fireplaces have everything you need for a romantic getaway... truly a unique NE/Cape experience. With such a great location, this place could be a gold mine. Some updating, entertainment and menu could bring in so much more traffic. Not a soul around after 9pm ( if even that late) sunsets and frozen drinks are spectacular
