I just visited Dr. Lifschitz's office for the first time and the two ladies working there were so nice I didn't want to leave. They were both so sweet I thought I was back in the South. I look forward to visiting their office again.

I'm sorry to hear BBean had such a bad experience. Regretably, you need to make it past his receptionists' attitudes to see Dr. L. He was able to manage my thyroid when no one else could. He is a good man and has always taken his time to examine and talk to me - not rushed to get in and out as with so many other docs. But he does need to do a clean sweep of his staff. Disorganized! Dr. Lifschitz is experienced, listens to the patient and comes up with helpful diagnosis. However, his organization could be questionable. at the end of the visit he tells you to schedule another follow up appointment within 2-3 months and in fact he he forgets what he's told you and gives you less than 2 months supply of medication refills to use. So you run out of meds before you visit him and therefore have to call the office and pharmacy multiple times to sort out the reason for needing more pills without a... read more

REPREHENSIBLE TREATMENT – I cannot speak to the quality of care that Dr. Mervyn Lifschitz provides but I can tell you that, if it is anything like the professionalism that his staff showed to my wife and I after we missed an appointment, he clearly should have his license revoked. Our primary care provider recommended Dr. Lifschitz only because he was closer to us than the other physician she wanted to recommend. A gifted doctor and listener. – I have had ten years of endocrinology issues, and in the course of my illness, seen many doctors. Dr. Lifschitz is the best I have ever seen. He has a deep sense of compassion, incredible listening skills, and good problem solving. The office is old school, not very polished, and not computer friendly. Do not bother calling... – I called this doctor to schedule an appointment for my daughter and the receptionist was extremely rude! When I said to her, "apparently you don't want to talk to me, I'll find a different doctor" her response was, "wow, aren't we..." (I couldn't hear the rest because I hung up.) I would strongly suggest that this doctor evaluate his reception staff. I'll be searching for a new endocrinologist.

Tough to find a new endocrinologist – Dr Lifschitz is a very nice guy. I do agree however that there i great room for improvement with regard to the courtesy of his staff. And in terms of finding a new endo, I need more than just a nice guy. When I inquired about the weight I have put on since my thryroid problem began (and subsequent thyroid removal) his advice for me was to eat 400 calories a day - claiming that is the only way the weight would come off. Dr Lifschitz is an old-fashioned doctor....for better or worse – Overall, my son's experience with Dr Lifschitz was positive -- at least during the office visits. He takes his time, asks a lot of questions, and seems to be quite thorough. However...if you want to follow up with him on any topics after you leave the office, you must be a very patient patient!
