This was the worst and most disappointing job I have ever had in my life. As a long time customer, I regret ever having had the desire to work there, and find it difficult to support the co-op after having such a terrible experience.
When you shop at the Co-op, you're not just supporting one local business, but an entire supply chain of locals. You're also supporting a committed staff, and getting a cleaner, nicer, less crowded store. Tough to beat!
They support the local businesses and their community. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Their bakery is the best!
low quality. expect to pay three to four times more for the basic necessities like milk and eggs. I would much rather have a Wegmans. Any day, but I'd even take a tops or Save-A-Lot over. Lexington Co-op
The Lexington Co-op doesn't live up to its values. Too much of the food is either unsustainable (beef & other meats) or sold by a large corporation -- the shelves are stocked with products from Coke (Honest-T), General Mills (Annie's and Glen Muir tomatoes), Campbells (Bolthouse juice), PepsiCo (Sabra hummus), and more. if a mission of the co-op is to enable members political action through food choices (local, organic, ethical production/consumption, food-for-all, etc..).
