They have no competition – After moving to Portland in 1999 I bought a fixer home. I needed lots of do it yourself equiptment including floor sanders, wallpaper removers even a trailer to haul debris. I stopped in at Lewis Rents due to the close location. The people were friendly, helpful and knew what I needed even if I didn't. They showed me how to use the equiptment and loaded the heavy items for me. Had to pay for equipment that did not work – I picked this place because they were close to my house. I rented a carpet cleaner and a power washer. The power washer stoped working after 5 minutes, and the carpet cleaner kept shocking me. So, I took the power washer and carpet cleaner back. When I told them about what happened they replaced the equipment, but did not bother apologizing for the inconvience. The second power washer stopped working too.
