THE STORY OF LENNY’S: Family Owned and Operated for over 40 Years ​My father, Joseph DeCandia, was born in Bari, Italy and came to America in 1956 at the age of 18. He took odd jobs as a dishwasher, a baker and a butcher. In 1958 he took a job at “Lenny’s Pizza” in Brooklyn on 86th Street where he started to learn the pizza business. Food cold and had no taste. Nana's Kitchen room very noisy with conversations and music. Room very cold. Only part of the restaurant not noisy is in the main dining room. If my husband and I closed our eyes we couldn't tell you what we were eating! Have gone there many times and hosted a private party upstairs,but will not return!
