DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN TO SEE HER!!!! Took my child for counseling to see Leininger. Worst mistake EVER! Since I wanted to have a family discussion on my child's treatment and explore options instead of rushing to throw her on medications, Leininger called CPS on us. Leininger never said to me that my child was suicidal (which my child is not) but told CPS my child is and that I refused care. 3 days ago I spent a total of two, 30 minute sessions with Dr. Leininger and was largely disappointed. I found her to be instantly presumptuous, and very "by the book" in regards to her diagnostic abilities. I did not feel she was easy to communicate with, and at times she made me feel quite uncomfortable. She made quick assumptions about myself and situation without spending enough time with me to actually understand. Highly recommend Dr Leininger.
Dr. Leininger is great I feel extremely comfortable with her I like taking to her she listens to me without judgement. I plan on continuing to see her and I have also brought my daughters to see her. Very happy I came to see her.
Was very dismissive about things I said. Barely spent more than 20 minutes with me each time. Recommended medication to me after my first two consultations, which were just me filling out questionnaires with only 5 or so minutes of talking. Even though I mentioned I had never even been to a therapist before so didn't know how affective therapy would be on it's own and wanted to try it that way for a while. Left the windows open while we spoke, which is right by the parking lot.
I found her to be snide and uncaring. I was distraught and needed help with grief. She actually said to me, "well what do you want from me?" I was thinking it was obvious but maybe she wasn't smart enough to know that the crying person in front of her needed some grief counseling. I went to my church instead after my 25 minute visit that I was charged for an hour.
