I switched my care from Women’s Health Associates to Legacy Midwifery when I was 30 weeks pregnant because I felt overlooked and unseen by my previous OBs at WHA. From my first visit with my midwife, Miriam Rosenberg, I felt truly cared for. She asked me questions, not only about my pregnancy, but also about my physical and emotional outside of being the birthing parent. I had an incredible birth with legacy midwifery! I had a very uneventful pregnancy which is fantastic. My appointments were thankfully very boring for the duration of my pregnancy. As someone else mentioned they do give care under the medical standard because they MUST, But you can always refuse. Such a positive experience. Every provider is kind, compassionate, is a great listener and patient advocate. Cannot recommend enough!
Pros: Solid professionalism and bedside manner, they are very responsive with all questions. The midwives deliver on the same floor as the OBs so if you need an emergency C-section (like I did), it’s just a quick wheel down the hall. Their nurses and MAs are also a 10/10. Cons: Some of their policies appear to be a bit more serving of the hospital and/or public health needs rather than that of individual patients.
