I am rating this based on our stay in June 2015. We took our horses during the week for an anniversary trip. Our horses were the only ones staying in the barn. There were broken switch plates with wasps nesting there. One not only had to be careful not get stung, but also not to get electrocuted. We and our horses were dive bombed by birds that were permitted to nest there. We were there in 2013, but had a lot of horses staying, so birds had more horses to bomb. Need a place for a little R&R. This place is the ticket. They have a restaurant, so no cooking. Deal!!!! There's a beautiful mountain stream, horseback riding, beautiful homes to rent, and glorious mountain views. Check it out......you'll be glad you did!
This is one of the most beautiful places on earth. The staff takes care of you as an old friend would. The rental cabins are so unique and are always perfect for getaways. The views are breathtaking. The equine facility is top notch and the trail system is fantastic. When I am at Leatherwood Mountains Resort...I never want to leave. A true NC Mountain getaway that gets in your soul. My favorite place on earth!!
For our Honeymoon, we stayed in a beautiful cabin that had accommodations for our horses. There were several roomy stalls, along with a paddock for turn out. We could see our horses out the cabin's kitchen window. We trail rode all day, then grilled, relaxed on the deck and in the hot tub in the evenings. It was a wonderful memory.
