If you are looking for someone with medical knowledge she’s great. If you’re looking for someone who has compassion for someone going through a mental health crisis, I’d say she lacks empathy and compassion and could use training on how to deal with individuals struggling with mental health issues . She has a hard time listening or refuses not sure which one. Overall, she is respectful and knowledgeable. In my opinion, I feel she could just use a refresher on compassion.

Very dissatisfied with her. She doesn’t listen and she is incompetent. She diagnosed us with things that made no sense. She lied to us repeatedly. She told us she didn’t care that we might die. When I reported her to the patient care Desiree, Desiree didn’t even care. Pretty typical of Altru.
We saw Dr. Ista today in the ER. I have to say, I have never met a better Dr. than her at altru. She treated my family so well. She was so pleasant, so cordial, and very knowledgeable. She also gave us a referral that we were going to ask for before we even asked for it because she knew that that was what was best for my husband.
