Did Rebecca get me a divorce? Eventually (1+ year later). Did Rebecca answer all my questions? Mostly. Did Rebecca help me have contact with my children during more than a year of legal standstill? Not at all. Did Rebecca willfully take a new retainer she knew wouldn't actually be needed? Unequivocally, YES. So there you go. I will address this client's dishonest or misleading statements bit by bit. (1) This client's divorce did NOT drag on "for more than a year." The divorce was filed on July 22, 2015 and was finalized on May 24, 2016, a period of ten months. Ten months is not an out-of-the- ordinary time frame for a contested divorce in Hamilton County. When I arrived for my first appointment, the office was locked and dark. I waited for 15 minutes, but no one ever showed up. No one called to notify me our appointment would be canceled. I wasted my time and gas, and missed work to make the appointment. This is unbelievably unprofessional behavior from someone who should definitely know better.
