Shady business...stay away I went to Lavadas Jewelers this morning to have a clasp replaced on my diamond necklace my husband bought me while we were in St Maarten for Christmas. I was informed by Dana that the price to replace the clasp would be $65 and it would take a week to have it fixed. The biggest rip off I wish i didnt have to give a star. My boyfriend purchased my engajgment ring here. After i received it the main diamond was slightly crooked so we took it back and he tried to fix it but it was still slightly crooked so we again took it back finally he made it right then a week later a stone fell off so we had to take it back again. DON'T TRUST LAVDAS!! DO NOT TRUST THIS JEWELER!! I went to Nick Lavda to get my rings reset only to find out from my regular jeweler, who originally appraised my diamond, that the diamond I got back in my ring was NOT the same! It was worth less than half of the diamond I gave him to reset. Now it's my word against his and I know I will have to cut my losses. Horrible store!
My time with Mr. Lavada Lavadas Jewelers! Hmnmmmm where do i start. First things first, Nick is a very inteligent man and if i knew him from long ago i could say he would of been my roll model. "Diamond in the Rough" I've been on a tiring and what seems endless search for an engagement ring. I stopped in to one of Lavdas' pawn shops on 8 mile rd. (a scary location to say the least, especially for me since I'm not from the Detroit area) but I did talk with a very high energy, nice, and knowledgeable guy named Tom. Tom took some time to explain diamonds to me and shot me some really great prices on loose stones (around 30% better than other jewelers). Highly recommended My husband purchase my engagement ring/wedding band from Lavadas nearly four years ago. I absolutely love my ring, it's beautiful. The service there is great. Since my wedding, I've relocated to Florida, but when I'm in town I go back for my cleaning and inspection of my ring. I highly recommend Lavadas Jewelers.
Great to do business with I have bought different gifts for people from Lavdas. Each time I have been very happy. The staff is very helpful and the prices are great. I have found some pretty great gifts. I would go back for future purchases because of the helpfulness of the staff and the prices.
Lavdas I have used Lavdas quite a few times in the past for jewelry, it is a great store with a huge selection, the owners and staff and knowledgeable and nice, the prices are really unbeatable, I have friends who swear by Lavdas. the hours are convenient but they have one downfall in my opinion (which might not bother others), they have three locations, two in Warren and one in Greektown, the locations just aren't in the best neighborhoods, one is in the mall and the other two just aren't in neighborhoods that I feel that s... read more
