I have lived in Austin my whole life. I have been going to Lavaca St since college in 1994-1998. My husband & live downtown & go there all of the time mainly because of the great location, amazing food & stellar staff. Unfortunately this Sunday we had a very bad experience. A group of intoxicated men verbally assaulted me and my husband and our friend. The manager tried to calm the situation but did not handle properly. Great food, drink, and atmosphere.
There is not a single picture of a cow or a river in this bar. The food is good and so are the drinks but if you were expecting a bovine or river (or a combination) themed bar you will be disappointed.
