Valentine's Day Romance – Didn't experience any of the bad service some have said about this place. My wife and are are locals tried it for the first time on Valentine's day. You would think that the service would have suffered on such a major dining day, but it was great. The restaurant wasn't even that crowded (probably because it was so new). Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable. The view from the river was absolutely wonderful. The food was even better. Extremely delicious. What made this even better was the fac... read more
Beautiful space but, What a waste!!!! – Nice variety of tapas and a gorgeous space -- But, just a hotel restaurant--- service was lame and slow and seemed unknowledgable--esspecially when it came to drinks and wine!!! Very dissappointed over all- ladie Manager rude and curt did not seem to care on e way or the other-- Nice place maybe to hang with a water for the parade??
Too bad the service was SO bad! – The food was excellent as was the atmosphere. However, the service was extremely disapointing. We did complain the the management after we went home. They did offer to make it right
Pretty good for the river – Went there based upon reviews from this site. The food was wonderful, the paella for 2 was really for 3. We could have made a meal on the tapas (but don't) Good spanish wine selection. The problem, no attmosphere. the place is just a dining room for a hotel kind of sterile. The band outside in the courtyard bar sounded great but we couldn't stay. The one thing that would bring me back is that the tables on the river might be better, we will try them in the spring.
One of SA's finest – This is one of the top 5 restaurants in SA. Entrees from $15 to $30 present an amazing value for the quality of product. Very nice decor and good service. The chef is new to SA, but will make a mark among the likes of the chefs from E'toile, Bistro Vatel, The Lodge, Las Canarias, and Biga on the Banks. I highly, highly recommend this place for special occasions and intimate dates.
Great food! Horrible Service! – I am new in town and this is on the best places I have seen so far. The food is just delicious, the ambience is just what you need for that special moment, and I really would like to highly reccomend this place except for one thing: SERVICE. The waitress tried to be nice all the time, but she took for ever to bring things to the table and kept forgetting constantly simple things like extra water or more wine or bread and desserts and so on. It was a pity... I would certanliy go back provided t... read more
The Hotel Contessa's riverfront restaurant serves up delicious Spanish cuisine to guests, business diners and savvy tourists. – In Short Located on the ground level of the Hotel Contessa, this Spanish and Latin restaurant serves three meals a day in a casually elegant setting next to a quiet bend in the Riverwalk. The menu features tapas, salmon, daily roast specials, brisket, and other favorites. Diners can sit at al fresco tables next to the river or in the upscale indoor dining room. The attached Cork Bar is a lively spot... read more
