Hated Las Palomas – This was the worst experience that we've ever had, our waitress appeared to be intoxicated, slurring her words with a terrible attitude, she diffinately did not want to be there. She was extreamly condisending and rude, Chris if you hate your job so much, do something else. You gave us the worst sevice ever, same on you!
Worst Service Ever – My husband and I have eaten at the resturant, spending over $100 ever single time at least one time a month for years. He arrived prior to me and ordered a beer at the bar and paid. When I arrived we were seated and the waiter asked to see the receipt for the $4.00 beer. He stated that people steal and that the is their policy to ensure that he had paid for the beer. He had not even had a drink. We got up and left that very expensive beer. And guess what, they charged my account for the beer. The lost ou... read more
WORST CANNED BEANED EXPERIENCE – We ordered the fish tacos for lunch and the fish had a very unfamiliar, unappetizing taste. The rice was dry and clumpy. The beans were obviously canned. The salsa was the only somewhat appetizing part of our meal. I am not very particular but this had to be the worst "mexican" food ive ever had. It all seemed to have been prepackaged.
Citysearch Editorial Review – Hiding in a strip center on Bee Caves, this restaurant has been in business since the 1940s. A loyal following can mean a wait for dinner, especially on weekends. However, excellent service and a stop at the palm-and-rattan bar help pass the time. The popular combination plate includes both a mole and a verde enchilada and Yucatan shredded pork. The salsa is made fresh daily, causing differing temperatures based on the day's jalapenos.
LOVE IT!!!! – I LOVE Las Palomas!! A friend introduced me to this restaurant when I first moved to Austin 2 years ago and it's my favorite place to go. i had never had ceviche until i went there and it's sooo yummy!! I get it everytime I go. The margaritas are awesome too!!
Best fajitas!!!! – This place has something for EVERYONE! The food is fresh and clean and so flavorful, and I've never had a bad experience in my 20+ years of dining here. The tortilla soup and the spicy "Al Chipolte" fajitas are the best in town - hands down, and the desserts and margaritas are sooooo good, too!!!!
Wonderful food and atmosphere – True interior Mexico cuisine, not Tex Mex. Relaxing, great food, great service, good prices. Never had to wait too long for a table. It's our grandkids favorite place when they come to Austin, too. They love the live music.
Good Food, Great Music, Low Price – Good food and wonderful Mariachi/Gypsy band on weekendsUnique sound. Dazzling Jazz band Wednesday nights. Casual atmosphere, diversely aged crowd, good eavesdropping locale. Come on by for a listen.
