Not my first choice for Mexican food – The food is not the best, but the atmosphere is festive.
A Great Patio – For outdoor dining, Las Casuelas is a best bet. The huge outdoor patio doesn't even get too hot in the blistering summer, thanks to huge trees (watch out for falling leaves), umbrellas and misters. The food is pretty good, and the drinks are very good at this popular Palm Springs restaurant. Fabulous Margaritas – The food is essential here only in the sense that it mops up the delicious margaritas. I know they've been around forever and somehow they originally built a reputation on their food, but I wasn't all that excited by it. My tomatillo sauce on my shrimp enchiladas was rather bland. Popular hangout in Palm Springs – If memory serves, this is the second of the Las Casuelas restaurants in the Palm Springs area. Good food (which sort of doesn't matter after two of the margaritas), great vibe and a festive crowd. Seems to be popular with locals as well as tourists. The bar in the back has an outdoor patio and live bands.
