Las Brisas Restaurant

About this business

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Orange County or, for that matter, Southern California. The views here are to die for, with the coastline spread out before you. This makes it a popular spot with tourists, who like to take pictures of themselves against the spectacular backdrop. Locals love it too. Most of the entrees are seafood-centric but there is something for everyone. Try the pasta Las Brisas, Bouillabaisse with a half-lobster tail, or scallops in tomato saffron broth. There is a full bar and an extensive... read more

Outstanding view but average to below average food – The 2 times I ate at Las Brisas I was so disappointed that I now will only go this place for drinks. Fish was overcooked, service was kind of pushy. I will say that this is probably THE BEST place to watch fireworks on the 4th of July in all of OC. Their location on cliff that juts out just a bit from the coastline affords you views of the firework shows in San Clemente and (I think) Newport Beach. Not to mention your front row view of Laguna's show.

The ocean view and Mexican seafood make this Laguna Beach spot the place for special occasions. – In Short Perched atop the cliffs of Laguna Beach, the patio, indoor bar and window-adjacent tables offer glorious ocean views. The decor is slightly outdated, but patrons come for the sunsets, food and margaritas. The menu spotlights seafood with Mexican flair, like lightly breaded red snapper with Veracruz sauce, charred rare ahi and seafood enchiladas. Sunday brunch runs the gamut, from omelets to lobster salad.

Beautiful views – This restaurant is quite popular however, having had dined here I would suggest NOT eating your meal here. The ocean views are to die for. This is a place to sit, relax and enjoy the views while having a cocktail. The food is not that great and a little pricey for what you get. OH, and maybe the owners could possibly repair the roof of the building that looks like it's been in a hurricane. Looking from the outside this restaurant does not look the way it should considering the views and prices.

So good – I took an ex-girlfriend here for our 1-year anniversary awhile back and it was phenomenal. The menu consists of a mix between Mexican and Seafood and both are authentically cooked and presented. You should be convinced of my genuineness by the fact that I haven't let my failed relationship ruin this place for me. Go, take a date, take a stroll on the beach, and leave with a great taste.

Excellent food and views! – I would disagree with the previous reviews stating the food was marginal. I ordered the enchiladas (one seafood, one cheese), and both were excellent. The guacamole appetizer was also outstanding. This is not your typical "Mexican" restaurant, but rather this would be considered more of a "Mexican steak and seafood" restaurant with just a couple of your usual Mexican entrees (they serve rolls, rather than the usual tortilla chips, when you sit down). The view (on top of a cliff overlooking the ocea... read more

it's okay... – every time i've been to Las Brisas I have not been impressed. I have never been for breakfast, which i have heard is great, but i have been for a sunset cocktail and it just isn't all that grand. The appetizers suck and the drinks are spendy. I'm not too sure about the singles scene either...i have yet to see a hoppin party that i have to run home, get dolled up and run back for....

Too Much! – A $4.00 ice tea (no refills)!!! It was a bit crazy and the food wasn't anything to write home about. I do admit the view is great but otherwise a BIG disappointment!

great view and great value – i have to say i only really go to las brisas for their breakfast buffet. that and the view are, in my opinion, the two best things about this restaurant. lunch and dinner are alright...but i've had better sea food/mexican food. but their breakfast is just great!!!! too bad it's always way too crowded. good value though. not pricey at all for its location. got good service also.

The brunch is a steal!!! – I have been here a few times and I have never been disappointed. Sunday brunch is such a great value. It is a four course sit down brunch for a great price. Great food and great environment.
