I have brought my laptops to Laptop Geniuses 3-4 times - fried motherboard, crashed fan, etc. They have always been prompt and reasonable. When I thought I had cooked my motherboard again, but really nothing was wrong, they didn't charge me for the diagnostic. The first time, they gave me all the options, including not having the motherboard replaced and just getting a new computer, which of course would have meant no fee for them.
