I’m a young powerlifter and me and my buddy have been working out for about 4 years now, we have been at this gym for about 2 years now. Ive been to plenty of gyms and have never had as bad of experiences at a gym besides this one. Members/Employees treat young members horribly, we have been reported, banned, yelled at, sworn at, etc, when all we want to do is workout. I love the place, but. After Northwestern bought the Lake Forest Hospital, many things changed, and not for the best. One is - they started brining their elderly patients to the gym for a “Wellness“ program. Don’t they understand, that being surrounded by handicapped people in the locker room or on the main floor is well... quite depressing ? That feeling that you are not in a gym, but in a rehab center, is not what people look for ? The size of the hospital is enormous. Can’t it dedicate a separate area for that purpose? An... read more

Honestly only go to this gym because there’s not that many other options close by. Everywhere in the gym is a “cell free” zone. For privacy…meaning even on cardio machines you can’t technically use phone. Had an employee “off shift” come up to me naked in sauna telling me I couldn’t listen to my music even though I wasn’t actively using my phone. I just had it on me because I’ve seen employees go in lockers. That they always have access to. Personally not comfortable with keeping my cell phone in a locker other people have a... read more
