I had my home appraised to refinance my mortgage. The appraiser used 2 houses that were short sales as comps for my house and as a result, the appraised value of my house was much lower than expected. I told him that short sales should not be used in the comparison since those properties are in financial distress. We paid for our appraisal over three weeks ago and no matter when we call, nobody answers the phone. We have no idea what it got appraised for and we're just looking for a COPY of it. We have left a total of five general messages, then have called back repeatedly trying to get an associate on the phone and it's just an email system. FIND SOMEONE ELSE!
We asked for an appraisal to be done. We were told we had to pay cash or a money order. The appraiser came to our house, didnt even consider the updates made to our home, wouldnt listen to me telling & showing him of our updates. Then he compared our home to what was in our opnion, 3 run-down appearing homes, several miles away from us. The homes were not even in our general area.
