Located between Madonna and Jacksonville, the Topiary Gardens are one of the most beatific tourist locations in the state. This 22 acre property was purchased by Harvey Ladew in 1929 and redone completely. There are more than 30 sub gardens housing some 100 huge topiary forms. RecommendedA hidden gem in rural Maryland. Beautiful topiary gardens and Manor House. Highly recommend if you visit to take the time to be a part of the 1 hour guided tour of the Manor House. And if you live near by in Maryland or Pennsylvania, then you should definitely show Ladew some love and become a member. Membership is worth every penny. I’ve probably left a review already, but here’s another. Today was my birthday and the first time I got to try the BLT at the cafe. Holy wow, that is the most phenomenal sandwich I have ever eaten. It was a shame to lose it to digestion! Amazing food at the cafe, everyone with me enjoyed it.

Most beautiful and peaceful place.
I love visiting the garden in all seasons. We have enjoyed the concerts for years. The image of children dancing on the lawn at dusk, picnics with friends, wonderful music is such a special setting, visiting the butterfly house--all these memories fill our hearts and provide a "safe place" in our mind during these difficult times.
I love this place and will be so happy when we can go back 🌸 🌹
