Very rude male lab tech. I have worked in Healthcare for 15 years and some people just do not need to work in healthcare if you have no compassion for people. I was in the chair to have my blood work and an elderly lady was asking for help. She was rudely told to have a seat that they were with patients. She explained she really had to go to the restroom and then was told she would have to wait that they have 2 patients already back but in the rudest way. Getting faces with a forced payment of "what labcorp predicts your bill to be" is insane. Why should I have to give a card every time to the LAB after paying $50 co pays to see my doctor??? The waits the last few times have been astronomical, I am talking 30 plus minutes (at least) on my lunch break. Labcorp is sketch as all get out if their phlebotomists have to collect funds!!! The staff at LabCorp Gardendale makes getting blood drawn a little more tolerable. Although I am an easy stick and don't mind giving blood I certainly don’t enjoy it. On my last visit, Mrs. Ernestine drew my blood and her personality will put you in a lighter mood if you are having a bad day or just uncomfortable about getting your blood drawn. I was in and out and Mrs. Ernestine and Roger are always nice no matter how busy they were. Keep it up.
The staff in Gardendale is fine, but the company billing practice is questionable. I always pay my copay when I check in at the lab, but I still get a bill in the mail every time. When I call to find out why, I am put on hold and get to listen to a recording. I have yet to speak to an actual human. Then I write asking for details on the bill and mail it back. All I get after that is collection letters and a hit on my credit report.
