La Traviata

4.5

About this business

If you love Italian cuisine, La Traviata gives you another reason to smile. Chef Gilchrist prepares innovative dishes of chicken, duck and other meats to suit every palette. The staff know their food, so feel free to ask for advice if you're not sure what to order. It's not surprising to find the restaurant crowded, so reservations are wise. The classic Italian dessert, Tiramisu, is a must-try at La Traviata. The romantic interior makes it the ideal place to bring that special someone.

OUr first time here and we fell in love with the place. The food was delicious and the service was prompt, sooth, and friendly. The place is small and we had a party of 5. We were greeted with a nice round table in the window front and had a lovely birthday celebration. The complimentary tiramisu was lovely.

I'm not quite sure why this place has a 5 star rating. The food was ok, but I've had much better at other Italian restaurants, including The Grotto, which is a chain restaurant. The spaghetti bolognese was a bit soapy tasting, they had no kid's menu, and the Caesar salad was very small compared to other restaurants. In addition, they charged for bread, where most places do not. The one place where La Traviata did excel was in their desserts. The chocolate cake is amazing, and the lemon custard is very good as well.

Business response:

Sorry to hear you didn't have a 5 star experience! Although not on the menu, we do have options for children such as a small portion of your choice pasta with a variety of simple sauces. Hope you'll check us out another time!

The red wine vinigret dressing was the best I ever had. The mudroom pasta dish was real good. We will be back.
