Bad Customer Service – I have always heard that La-Tea-Da's had amazing food, so when it was time for my fiance and I to choose a caterer, we automatically assumed that we would end up going with them. After my inital phone call, they were pretty quick to get us in the door and do a small tasting and discuss menu options. AWFUL SERVICE...STAY AWAY – The service received from the owner Janet would make anyone’s skin crawl. If you don’t have hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend on your event then she will make you feel the worst you have ever felt. She is rude, condescending, obnoxious, loud person who lacks tact. Ooh-La-Las, New Owners and Wonderful Experience‎ – Ooh-La-Las formerly La-Tea-Das. I have been there a few times with friends recently and each time was very impressed. "A Victorian feel. Fresh food. Great service. The cook even came out to greet us and see if everything was to our liking. The food was so fresh that I had to let her know. OK food but no reason to bother for small groups – I took my friend from out of town for high tea on a Friday, with a reservation (you have to make one, choose tea or high tea ahead of time, and confirm with a credit card). Fabulous Catering! – I have been a client of La-tea-da's for many years, use them at least 8 times a year for large corporate events and weekly for smaller events, and they have alway done an exceptional job. In the past year they have moved their catering business to 115 W. 7th Street, and focus on lunch and tea parties at their Elizabeth location on 7th Street. None of the experience was good – I am planning my wedding. I went and met with the owner about them being my caterer. When I was a bit early she expressed to her assistant that I would only be in her way so I needed to sit outside the office. The first question she asked was "what do you picture your wedding like" and I said a fun party. The answer I got was "well then get a wedding planner". Waste of time! – No returned calls. Promised a proposal on several occasions and never heard anything back. Seems that they will get back to you if you're budget doesn't have a limit. My fiancee' booked a bridal luncheon with them but changed her mind when they would not get back to us on catering the wedding. When she called to cancel & explained why, because of their lack of response & concern, they didn't seem to care one bit & she was told "things happen where they don't work out". Great food and atmosphere, terrible customer service – I have been to LaTeaDas in the past for a baby shower, and had a fantastic time. When I decided to host one for a friend LaTeaDas was my first choice. I had a great first conversation, and was given the details of how the process worked. Everything from that point forward was unpleasant. I was promised emails which I had to call several times over a couple weeks to receive.
