We came to DC for a long weekend and because I didn't know how the flught would go I didnt make any reservations uoon arrival and decided to wing it. We passed Taberna Del Alabardero on the walk from the subway to the hotel. It looked festuve, pretty and there was outside seating. We glanced at the menu and decided to go back. here to warn about the service fee / Travelzoo dinner voucher "deal." excellent food, but as other reviews have mentioned, there is a 20% "service fee" that you're only clearly made aware of when the bill arrives, which is explicitly described as "not gratuity." very much not a fan of a substantial hidden fee being sprung on you after you've already enjoyed your meal. just raise your menu prices. the fact that there are a number of posts dating back several years about this means TdA hasn't made any changes despite commentin... read more
