I called four local hotels next to Anchorage Airport and La Quinta had the best price. Just needed an overnight place before my next flight and this worked out best. Clean and close to airport. The prices were as follows: La Quinta $217. Comfort Suites $268 Baymont Inn $272 Coast Inn $290 All had shuttle service. But La Quinta had 'Ashley'. Super friendly, great dinner suggestions, assured me that my shuttle would be there at 4:30 AM, and extremely attentive. Good people are hard to find and she is one of them.
The hotel was clean. Gym had a nice rack of free weights, a cable machine and some cardio machines. Perfect for getting in a quick workout before my flight. The area around the hotel is a little sketchy. There is a nice ramen place right across the street called Naruto ramen. There's also another ramen place and a pho place down the road so there are some restaurants within walking distance but not as many as if you were downtown.
