I simply love LaMancha! Great coffee, and the Philly cheesesteak is my favorite. But the best thing about the place is the employees. Despite the recent rash of negative comments, EVERYONE is welcome and treated with respect.
I have been going here for years, and have seen nothing EVER resembling racism or disrespect toward any people of color, whether it be employees or customers. The food is good and reasonably priced, the coffee is good and it's a nice comfortable place to hang out. The owner is involved in the neighborhood and community, and has stayed while other businesses have shuttered or reduced their hours. Go have a cup of coffee and see for yourself.
ALL IM SAYIN is that IF my home planet were about to explode and IF my parents were to smuggle me away in a spaceship... and IF that spaceship crash lands on earth... NOW HEAR ME OUT, IF THIS WERE THE CASE OF MY EXISTENCE.. the FIRST thing I would do is grab a delicious cup of hot coffee from La Mancha.. IF...
I have both lived and worked in Old North, and this a wonderful place. Most folks only know about Crown Candy, but right across 14th is another treasure. Not only is the food great and very reasonably priced, but there is always a friendly feel. Whether you are stopping by to grab your morning coffee or posting up for a lunch meeting, La Mancha is the perfect spot. Veronica, the owner, is both generous and talented and I cannot recommend this place enough!
