TO: BBB I believe it is only fair that LA Fitness give its customers the courtesy with the option to return to LA Fitness once we feel (comfortable enough) to return after COVID. Just because they feel they prepared, maybe we do not feel they have. it should not be the sole choice by this fitness club to start charging us when we are not ready to return. LA Fitness business practices are completely deceptive! at least at this location in Boca Raton. When you sign up for membership they are quick to go over the terms but then once you get charged for a different amount and annual fee they prefer to let you cancel your membership than retaining you as a customer, and your money its gone. Atrocious customer service. I needed to cancel membership due to lack of safety during this covid period. I explained to them that I understand they are doing what they can for cleaning but it is the other members that will not abide by rules. Since I am older and my wife is immuno-comprimised I explained that we could not risk it. I went to cancel my gym membership in February. The worker said he would and never filed it. I noticed it wasn’t canceled in April so I called the facility and they said the only thing they could do at the moment was freeze it because I couldn’t come in during the pandemic. I got into a 12 month training contract with LA Fitness during November of 2019 and at that time I had a job and enough room in my budget to for the contract, but since Covid has taken away my income for the past 5 months I have not been able to afford the monthly $200 charges to my bank account. They have intentionally made it near impossible to cancel this membership and once I jumped through every hoop they had set up they tell me that they can only cancel the monthly payments after the contract is finished. Sitting on hold for well over an hour (and counting) just to talk to a CSA. I have seen many other posts about this, some sitting for 2.5 hours or more. This is beyond absurd.
I have been trying to cancel my sons membership for months and I have called repeatedly only to be kept on hold for hours. This is no way to run a business.
LA Fitness Bear, DE 06/20/20 between 11 am and 1 pm someone broke into my locked locker and stole $160 in cash. The same day and same time another lock was broken and some cash stolen. Both locks were broken with some tools, heavy duty tools as locks were pretty strong. It took some time and it was loud, because one lock was literally crashed, but no one heard anything. Hello! I arrived at LA Fitnes in Clearwater where I was attended by Joseph P**** and we told him that we are foreigners, that we wanted to work out for two months, as we will be returning to our country. That was two weeks before they closed Gym because of Covid. He charged: registration fee, 2 months in advance and he warned at the time that we would not need to pay the annual fee, as we would freeze (we would only use two months).
