Absolutely unethical way of running a business. After meeting for several hours with the lead trainer we signed thousands of dollars worth of personal training. Just to have that same person quit, the trainer we were assigned to quit, and the only trainer left no-showed on an appointment. Corporate wants half our remaining balance to cancel the agreement. That's $2k for services unrendered.

LA Fitness and all its affiliates make cancelling a membership an appalling, arduous process. Making calls leads you nowhere. You have to cancel with the operations manager in person and the one on ************* in ************** always leaves before 5. How is it that someone with a regular 9-5 can meet with you. And far be it if you could cancel a membership online like a modern company. I have been a member of LA Fitness for over 6 years and I must say that my experience with your service has been very disappointing from the very beginning. I started my membership at LA Fitness Kearny before they even opened. My family and I signed up when the gym was still under construction and they were signing up people in front of the building in a tent outside. At the begging the LA fitness charged for Initiation fee $49 and then the 1st and the last month, ok I agreed on that.A month later when they charged for the monthly fee, they charged $49 for annual membership when the contract is monthly, obviously we paid the first and the last month. Its very disappointed.

Facility is dated, but large and has a lot of equipment. Memberships are obviously oversold due to the packed facility during evening hours.A new membership comes with a free session with the Fitness Manager. The Fitness Manger worked me for 3 sessions to convince me to purchase a 1 year package. He promised me things that were not in the contract that he would personally do. I went to the LA Fitness for a free trial and was waiting in a queue today to see that I have never seen before in my life! A rather young gentleman using the gym went to get free weights and I've seen the most horrific action that an employee could ever take against a client. A man ran after that young man with some broken English yelling at the Gym user that he did not have a right to go past that area and use the free weights, that it was for people who pay more and than man responded that he with this gym for over a year... read more

Was assaulted by *********************** (supposed Regional head) after he stole from the locker rooms for the 4th time. He carried a knife and joked about how much he makes from stealing headphones and wallets. He threatened my GF's job (an operations manager) after assaulting me. The most corrupt gyms in chicagoland. People are scared and I lost hundreds of dollars worth of stuff. He literally got caught stealing the last time he visited the location.

LA Fitness is not what its use to be. The facility in *******, ** in ********** is disgusting. Trash everywhere, almost every machine is broken( no exaggeration) every single machine is missing the pins for weights. Staff including the manager seems to not care at all. They sit upstairs all day long chatting with each other or on their personal cell phones. Very poor management!!! Corporate needs to move people around and bring in the new staff.
