I signed up in January 2020 for personal training. Everything was good up until ***** hit. I was doing 3 sessions a week until ***** 2020 because the gyms closed. Come October, the gyms reopened and I was charged for sessions again. That's fine, except I wasn't comfortable going to a gym yet. Anyways, the gyms all closed again in Mid-November due to the outbreak in CA yet again. At this point I had been charged for ***** and October but unable to use sessions. I signed for a personal training membership with ******* at this store the main reason being is he said they weren't holding people to the contract. He marked it out on the paper form and told me to ignore it. That there would be no contract for us. I guess I should have known better than to sign electronically without any of those same marks on the paper. I started working nights during the week and couldn't make it to any of them. The club near me is run down and not very clean, a concern especially during the pandemic time frame. They opened a new gym in ************* and they are charging a few hundred premium for ********* and a steam room. I joined for $600 for 3 years when this franchise was in trouble. I may have thought that through a little more if I had known they would catch me on the backend. These are amenities I would not be using. On Jan 29. My bf and i signed up for personal training TOGETHER. ******* said it would be $400 a month, pay as you and cancel anytime hassle free. He lied to us. My gf got really sick in February and called Feb 5th to cancel. ******* insisted for me to go by myself to do the training or he could put a indefinite freeze on the account till we both could return together. I am currently attempting to cancel my membership. I have moved to a town with no LA Fitness and have recently suffered an injury which limits my mobility.I hope I do not have to file a complaint to cancel my membership. I do not own a printer and cannot access any way to cancel on their online system.I will give them until Friday to resolve this. I have read others reviews and complaint and find that most of them include difficulty canceling. How long can these abusive behaviors continue?

I would give zero stars if I could, LA Fitness has always provided the bare minimum when I was a member there. They will show their true colors to their *valued* members when you try to cancel a membership. If you are lucky it will only take a few visits in person, and be careful because if you are out of town or recently moved the ****************** will make you email a few different addresses which are purposefully incorrect to delay the entire process. If I could give the ************, ** location a 0 star I would. I have had my gym membership at LA Fitness for a few months now and was told during sign up that I would receive guess passes. I never needed one until today. I brought my sister who was here for a month from overseas and told her I could take her to the gym with me since i would have a guest pass. Stole money out of my account. Signed up for a six month agreement. I was told explicitly that it would end after six months. Went in 6 months later to check if it would end and the guy who signed me up told me that there was no need since my agreement was ending. Saw later they never stopped charging me, Im furious and apparently they arent responsible for any lying from their sales staff as long as its in the fine print. They are thieves!
