Do not sign up with LA Fitness, they will charge you an annual fee even when the gym is closed due to the pandemic and you do not actually use it for one year. They also unfreeze your account and keep charging your credit card and when it declines they charge you a fee for every attempt, and they keep ringing it up to boost the amount of money they make from the declined card. I recently moved to ***** from Georgia. The area in which I live(**************) does not have any clubs. Prior to moving I started a pre paid year long membership. When asking if I could freeze it until I was in range of a club, I was told no. Now roughly 6 months later, I am getting automated emails to restart my membership. You cant reply to the emails and there is no where to unsubscribe. That is criminal for a corporation such as LA Fitness. Please help!
I used to work for this company in ************, **. I was the ONLY hard working employee while everyone stood around, laughed, did absolutely nothing. My pay was only $10/hr... I should've gotten more in pay because I'm highly reliable, trustworthy but my kindness got taken for granted 3 times (I left and came back).What really made me leave was the secrecy at this location, the high school drama. In June 2021 I submitted my cancellation in person and left feeling confident that this company had followed through with my request only to be billed the following month. Once I found out about this charge I promptly called them to advise them that they made an error as it has been 30 days since the cancellation has passed. After discussing this matter by phone with the store manager I was told that they would cancel my membership. This company takes your credit card/ debit card information to enroll you in their club. Withdraw your funds immediately and like clockwork, but for some reason, they cant push a few buttons and withdraw your membership. You have to download a form after logging into your account and jump across several menus to locate the cancellation form. Fill out the form and mail it to the corporate office snail mail. The personal training program is a complete rip off, and they continue charging you even after the contract is up. After numerous calls and hundreds of wasted dollars, I finally got a cancel confirmation. How is it legal for them to just keep charging on an expired contract? Terrible company.
An LA Fitness training manager used my membership to sign someone up for personal training session just so he can fill his quota now every month I am getting for services I did not want or sign up for. He and his friend forged my signature to do this.
I would just like to add my disgust at how LA Fitness does business. In January 2021, I joined the guy and was rushed through signing a training contract, which i never got a copy of after that meeting. I got one training session and decided I did not want to go back because the gym was super busy and no one wore masks, even though Covid was still rampant.
