My 87-year-old father-in-law's life was turned upside down when his live-in girlfriend of 15 years suffered a stroke. After a brief hospitalization, she was sent home to recover. Two of her daughters moved into the house to care for their mother, a home that was jointly owned by both her and my father-in-law. Almost immediately, they turned against him.
