The food is oh! so good! The waiters are charming and friendly. The service is fast and courteous, the facility is clean, and everyone works as a member of a well organized team. What s not to like? I visit often and it continues to be good.

Sorry folks but, I will have to agree with an earlier post. I took my Mother there when she was visiting from out of town and I was really embarrassed. Food was not good...I know the chicken in that burrito was from a can and the margaritas were like limeade. Never again.
If you think Mexican food is about a pile of goo on a plate with cheese - go here. The salsa for one is ketchup with hot sauce added to it. Their Chile Relleno is a butchered version of a classic Mexican dish that is simply NOT an example of the real thing. Save your money, save your time. If you want food real fast go here. if you want real Mexican, go elsewhere!
La Cocina, Mebane, gets 5 stars because the resturant is consistent. The food is excellent, the portions are abundant, the price is fair, the service is always pleasant!! We love the salsa! AND the bathroom is clean!!
Usually we go to Casa Ibarra, but the quality of food has gone down hill and the prices keep going up. Not to mention the atmosphere leaves a lot to desire. So... we took the quick drive to Mebane for our first visit to La Cocina last night. In a random shopping center it looked suspicous at first, but as we got closer (we had to park in the furtest spot possible b/c they were PACKED!) we got excited. This place is wonderful, the staff is fun and friendly, the food is great (its "Americanized" Mexican food but its still terrific!) and the food always come out very quickly. A favorite of my family we eat at La Cocina all the time!
Best margaritas in the state. Mon and Tues they are 99 cents. A great atmosphere after work for a drink and great food
If you like being treated well and getting a decent meal fast, you wont be disappointed here. Favorite dishes are Carnitas Botana, Tacos de carne asada, Fajitas with chicken, shrimp, steak, and chorizo, as well as their breakfast dishes, like Huevos con chorizo. Ask for the Tomatillo salsa for the real thing and Mexican sodas called "Jarritos" that come in all sorts of interesting flavors, like pineapple, tamarind, jamaica, and lemon.
