Wonderful! Authentic! Pleasant! Allez-y! (Go there!) – Having lived in Luxembourg for 4 years, I am pleased to find an authentic boulangerie & patisserie. This section of the restaurant alone is well worth the trip. Apple turn-overs, mousse au chocolat, gateaux (cakes), tartes (pies), and the like are delicieux! The saying is that one tastes something in 3 steps: with the eyes, with the nose, then with the palate. From presentation to tasting, these treats are a delight! Additionally, and being a French teacher, I am gratefu... read more

Horrendous & Appalling Service direct from owner!!!! Don't bring groups here! – My mother and our family frequented and brought people to this restaurant for years - but we will never return. Last weekend my sister was getting married and my mother thought it would be nice to have a luncheon for the ladies here. She made reservations to hold the back room and lunch for over 20 people. They called her back and confirmed our reservation prior to the date. When we got there - they lost our reservation and no apologies were made... read more

portions? – Nice atmosphere, especially when you can sit outside. Some of the older people seem overworked or tired. Great food usually, but some things are served in very small portions. I once had an older lady scold a new worker in front of me, telling her she was giving me to much stew. She then proceeded to reach across and ladle some of the stew back out.

Wow – The best part of dining here is the value. For two people, we ordered 2 appetizers, two entrees, two desserts, a salad and two glasses of wine. The total bill was around 70 including the tip. I recommend the cheese plate, but the portion is small. I also had the oven roasted chicken which was amazing. However, the included side dish was not. I don't even know what it was. Don't leave without trying the chocolate mousse. Seriously. Don't.

Great French cafe and place to hold an event – I used to live in Columbus and always make a trip to La Chatelaine everytime I am back. The pastries and breads are just delicious, and lunch and dinner are great as well. Lunch is a little more casual, served "cafeteria style" as the other reviewer noted. For lunch the croque monsier, ceasar salad, french onion soup are good, but I've never had anything I didn't like. Dinner is served seated and a pricier but within reason. They have a larger selection including vegetarian opti... read more

Délicieux! – I'm from the loiret region in france and this food brings back memories of home. The pastries are authentic and excellent, the bread - perfect. The ham sandwich takes on a whole new meaning on a baguette with herbed butter. My favorite is the croque-madam; a fancy way of saying grilled cheese sandwich (croque-monsieur is cheese and ham). Tomato and basil soup - yum. The atmosphere's a little corny but I'm willing to overlook it due to the food.

Oui, this French cafe has light dishes, tasty bread and sinful sweets. – The Scene In case you weren't sure what type of cuisine you're about to eat, the staff is required to wear those corny French baker's hats and shout "bonjour" at everyone who walks in the door. Service is cafeteria style, which is a pain but gives you a chance to look at all of the food before you order. This is a pleasant breakfast and lunch stop, especially if weather allows for dining on the patio. The Food The wood-fired ovens at La Chatelaine turn ... read more

You have to try thr fresh bread! – La Chatelaine is one of the few place in Columbus that you can find fresh baked european style bread (hard crunchy crusts) it is the BEST! They also carry very good pastries and the quiche is excellent. I admit I was a bit confused on my first visit because of the cafeteria style manner in which you select your food. I ended up getting way to much food, because I wasn't sure if it was a la carte or if the items being offered by the servers were a part of the meal???
