Excited to stay in a historical hotel, room was comfortable. It is very secluded so not a lot of food options off campus. No snacks available to purchase after checkin. The only option for food is a restaurant or bar. We opted for the bar. Was not sufficiently staffed for a holiday wkend. Would stay again when not so hot to enjoy the outdoor amenities. Was not informed until check in that the spa was closed for the season. Would be nice if the staff could share some of the history of the place.
The real big issue is that we have, is that they charge you a 5% surcharge to compensate for the increase cost in labor. They also increased their prices by 10%. Do away with the surcharge! It leaves a sour taste in people’s mouths.
My room was very nice, clean with a giant bathroom. However, the AC wasn't functioning properly. 80 degrees all night. Not comfortable sleeping conditions. The pool was green, dirty and had bugs swimming in it. The spa was clean, but with 100 plus temperatures I want cool water. Over all the pool are was unkempt.
