My most precious memories of my childhood are of Granny Fannie and myself with a big pot of creamy Camellia Red Beans and Rice.... in my South Louisiana hometown of Empire ...... It's amazing how important red beans can be !
Cooked a pot of Camellia black eyed peas today for our New Year meal...ham bone, bay leaf, salt, pepper, onion, and water. Yum.
They are great if you can find them I live in a small town, Blairsville, Ga. No one carried this brand.
I cooked Camellia Black Eye peas for my brother, sister, son, and stepfather already. Mine are soaking for cooking tomorrow, New Years Eve. I only use this brand because they are excellent!
