One of the best meals ever... – I had a completely different experience than the other person who posted...L'Ecole treated me and my date like a king and queen. They were attentive, the food was excellent, they answered all of our questions about the cuisine nicely, the ambience is romantic, and they let us linger and talk as long as we wanted. Terrible Service – The service was terrible. We were rushed to order, and then 70% of the today special was not available. After we ordered, some other waiter/manager (not the one that served us first) came over, asking for us to order again. They failed to refill our water. Food was OK, not the greatest, dont know why got such a rave review. Soon after dessert, the waiter/manager (same one again!) came by and just " dropped" the bill on our table without we asked for it. So after we paid, 2 of the girls had to use the rest ... read more

Night & Day difference than last visit! – My wife and I visited L'Ecole two years ago since we live in the neighborhood, are both foodies and wanted to support a local culinary school. We were horrified by the poor service we received from the host to the server. We recently had friends in town who insisted on going. Fantastic experience – The most outstanding aspect of our meal was the incredible, attentive service from our totally friendly and very knowledgeable waiter. His mastery of the wine list was pretty astounding considering he is probably not a day over 21. When I ordered my pork loin, he explained the preparation to make sure I would be satisfied. Yum – Everything was very good. The wait staff was very attentive and knowledgable. The food was the perfect amount and very good. The ONLY negative thing I could possible say, was that my lamb was slightly dry, but still tastey. Overall I would definately recommend this place, it is an incredible deal.

very good ! – - food : great (the best I ate in NY) - service : it's ok - price: it worth it !!! it's very cheap for a 5 courses menu this quality ! - the menu changes everyday, with 3 choices for each course. There's no "a la carte" menu. So choose your reservation the day when the menu is convenient for you ! there's a website. - I heard that sometimes the food and the service isn't great : it depends which students are on duty !!!
