Dr. Stokes is wonderful! I was very sick when I saw her in 1998 and had been struggling for several years with a variety of symptoms. I saw several doctors with no resolution. I was referred to Dr. Stokes and she took great care with me. I was referred to Dr Stokes from the UC-Davis Post Covid Clinic due to some severe symptoms that require a gastroenterologist's expertise. At my first, and only, (phone) visit, after explaining why I was seeing her, she yelled at me, "Why isn't your LC clinic doing this? I am not an infectious disease doctor, what do you want from me?!" I spent 36 years in a healthy, abled body and now I am incredibly ill with a myriad issues that I desperately need help with. The only good part about the care I have received from Dr. Stokes was how quickly I was able to get in for my initial colonoscopy. Otherwise, I have had nothing but issues with her and her office. The majority of the time I try and call to ask questions about my care, it is impossible to actually speak with someone, and when I do finally get through to a medical assistant I am promised a call back but never actually hear anything.
