Worst ER experience ever! Came in with the worst stomach pain of my life and was not offered any sort of pain relief during my 4 hour stay (it feels like I was forgotten about most of the time). When taken to the exam room, I had to change into my gown directly under a camera. They were more obsessed with my occasional marijuana consumption than anything else and asked if I “shoot up” despite no other substance/alcohol use. Staff were either rude or just dismissive. After the unintelligent and rude doctor assumed I was exaggerating my pain, he made me walk on my broken ankle to the bathroom, with only an IV stand on wheels for support... because I had been sitting there for so long without being treated that I couldn't hold it anymore. The guard would not allow my friend to bring me a wheelchair, instead took a casual stroll out after 10 min to decide if he believed I was truly injured. The doctor did not take a history. Instead he ordered unnecessary tests. I tried to explain my medical history to the orderly but he either didn't tell the doctor or the doctor wasn't paying attention. Avoid going to this ER as much as possible. I have received several nasty billing requests from their billing department because what Kuakini Hospital doesn’t tell you is that their drs are independent contractors and despite the hospital being within network, i was later informed that their physicians are not employees but contractors which basically means they can bill excess amounts to patients.
