We are a third and fourth generation family bakery established in E St Louis in 1919. We offer a full line of family recipe items. We have rye, cream, and specialty breads. We also offer scratch baked decorated cakes with our own special buttercream. Stollens, strudels, donuts, danish, cookies, coffee cakes, peanut cake, and of course gooey butter!

Very good cakes
I remember growing up near Collinsville and getting SO excited when we would get a gooey butter coffee cake from Kruta's. They never lasted for long! I wish you guys shipped! People would definitely pay to have your pastries shipped across the country!
Great bakery. Best doughnuts I have had since I worked at a family owned bakery thirty years ago. First bakery that even came close to Drakes bakery in Kansas. Wish it was closer. Haven't found anything close to Krutas. Drakes closed many years ago. So it was great to taste your doughnuts. If you are anywhere close to Collinsville you will not be disappointed you stopped at the bakery. Wish it wasn't 300 miles away from our house I would be there a lot.
i grew up in east st louis and used to run in the bakery all the time with my little friend carlene. we used to run in there bare footed and they always sat donut holes up on the counter for the kids in the neighborhood and we used to run in there and grab a handful and thought we were taking them and shouldnt have been. later on mr kruta at the time told my mother he cooked them up for the neighborhood kids to come and have. always remembered when we thought we were doing abad thing as a child. a very much remembered childh... read more
