Shame on you... If you have an ill cat, find a clinic you trust and have it seen... or call the clinic you have a relationship with. If you do not have such a relationship established, you should. It is both rude and cheap however to be calling a clinic and trying to grill a busy veterinarian when in fact the real solution is to get your pet taken care of instead of simply soiling someone's reputation because they did not take time out of a busy schedule to tell you what the receptionist should have... that your cat is ill a... read more
A Lasting Relationship Since I was a 9 year old, my family has been going to Southgate Animal Clinic since 1967. We have always enjoyed the care by the receptionists, techs and doctors. Out of the 43 years I have been going, there was only one rude person, but was there for a short period of time. I have brought in kittens and dogs from ages of babies to to very old animals. The clinic have been very supportive when an old animal has reached its time. I remember once I started crying in the reception room when I brought in m... read more
Dr. Shaw is amazing Dr. Shaw is exceptional! I have had the best care for my dog, Hannah. Dr. Shaw and her techs have been amazing with my family and the concerns we have had with her illness and the follow up. Hannah has been seeing vets at this clinic since she was 3 months old and is now 6 years old. I would recommend the clinic and Dr. Shaw to anyone who want great care for their four-legged family members!

Excellent Experience We moved to SE and were referred to Southgate by friends. I have never had a better experience! Dr. Stemper is friendly, caring with our kitty and knows what she is doing. After spending a lot of money and time at Laurelhurst Veterinary last year, Dr. Stemper found a solution to our cat's issues in 2 visits. Highly recommended!
Very Rude! I called to speak to a vet, to ask them about different reasons why my cat could be having bad eye infections, because I was considering bringing him in for a confirmed diagnosis and treatment. The receptionist whom I was speaking with was very rude to me and pretty much acted like it was absolutely none of my business to be asking any questions about my pet. She also gave me a lecture on why Vets go to school for 8 years and that they were not going to prescribe anything for my cat over the phone. Wow! Yet again ... read more
Not just any vet This place is more like a campus than a veterinary's office. A stray came into our life at the start of 2007 and as bad luck would have it, I got laid off. This poor stray needed vaccinations, neutering, and a double dew claw removed. Southgate Animal Clinic was the ONLY place who would help me out on a discounted basis. They worked with me to find assistance to defray the cost. I was so pleased that I moved both the stray and our golden retriever to this vet and won't look anywhere else. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Group discount Southgate Animal Clinic is the best around. I should know as we've not deviated once except for the after hours emergency trips we have ad to make once or twice.
