Sensitive, sensible pet care I've taken my three cats to Southgate many times over the past 14 years. They offer great care with no guilt if you can't afford heroic treatment. Prices are competitive, reasonable. PROS: Also offers some later hours for workday convenience CONS:
Not just any vet This place is more like a campus than a veterinary's office. A stray came into our life at the start of 2007 and as bad luck would have it, I got laid off. This poor stray needed vaccinations, neutering, and a double dew claw removed. Southgate Animal Clinic was the ONLY place who would help me out on a discounted basis. They worked with me to find assistance to defray the cost. I was so pleased that I moved both the stray and our golden retriever to this vet and won't look anywhere else. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Dr. Shaw is amazing Dr. Shaw is exceptional! I have had the best care for my dog, Hannah. Dr. Shaw and her techs have been amazing with my family and the concerns we have had with her illness and the follow up. Hannah has been seeing vets at this clinic since she was 3 months old and is now 6 years old. I would recommend the clinic and Dr. Shaw to anyone who want great care for their four-legged family members!
Excellent Experience We moved to SE and were referred to Southgate by friends. I have never had a better experience! Dr. Stemper is friendly, caring with our kitty and knows what she is doing. After spending a lot of money and time at Laurelhurst Veterinary last year, Dr. Stemper found a solution to our cat's issues in 2 visits. Highly recommended!
Hurt Pet? Recently my not so bright cat got stuck in a tree. This was the first time the 2 year old Calico decided to try climbing! She got up about 10 feet and then I think she got scared. Long story short, she fell out! I went to check her out and she was crying. I took her to Southgate. They were wonderful with her. They checked her out and it turned out it was on a strain in her fronyt lags. She is fine now.
Very Rude! I called to speak to a vet, to ask them about different reasons why my cat could be having bad eye infections, because I was considering bringing him in for a confirmed diagnosis and treatment. The receptionist whom I was speaking with was very rude to me and pretty much acted like it was absolutely none of my business to be asking any questions about my pet. She also gave me a lecture on why Vets go to school for 8 years and that they were not going to prescribe anything for my cat over the phone. Wow! Yet again ... read more
Group discount Southgate Animal Clinic is the best around. I should know as we've not deviated once except for the after hours emergency trips we have ad to make once or twice. I've had to leave pets at the facility a few times but never been in a position where we had to leave them over Sunday (the hospital is open Saturday). In the time we've been comming to Southgate, we have lost two dogs, and one cat. Southgate not only took care of the ones we lost, but my wife and I during and after the loss. Actually, they hurt my pet I think ?? I had to take my dog to this place, because it was on a short-term notice I was going to be out of town. My dog had to stay over the weekend ( this place is closed on the weekends ), because I got to this clinic 10 min. after they closed on a Fri. When my dog was picked up the following Monday, he was very lethargic, and when the alarm on my watch went off that same day, like any other day, this day he went running into a corner yelping and shaking! :-( Needless to say, I am very much st... read more
love your pets I have several friends who take their animals here. Everyone that I have talked to about this place speaks highly of them. My next animal I will bring here to get shots and fixed.
