I had surgery for a 5 cm hiatal hernia 5 wks ago. Today was my follow up, the dr was happy with my recovery and how i felt. I was very happy with Dr Spaniolas as on my initial visit he explained the whole procedure and asked if i had questions. I also spoke to his 2 assistants ( Christine and Teresa) who do the OR scheduling, they were wonderful with all their help. I highly recommend Dr Spaniolas, he is very competent at his job.
Dr Spaniolas, was excellent. He was knowledgeable, caring and ultimately very successful with my surgery.
Given a crippling injury thanks to Stony Brook Medicine and Dr. Spaniolas. When I complained and became inquisitive, Dr. Spaniolas decided to still have me do pre-surgical testing, but then cancelled surgery and only informing me 2 days later. Why? "I didn't trust him." so he quietly cancelled and hoped I'd just forget I suppose. I don't trust Stony Brook, and Dr. Spaniolas' bedside manner leaves much to be desired.
