Charming family owned hotel with a super retro feeling, yes, as though i was taken back in time and walked into a Gidget or Franky Avalon/Annette Funicello (rip) beach movie. The rooms are very clean and the entrance lobby had that true Hawaiian tropical feeling. The only reason i didn't give 5 star is because some minor details like carpeting and floors could be updated.
Great value in Kona. The location is perfect and the rates are the lowest I found in the area. Clean rooms and friendly, helpful staff make this the best place to stay. We got a basic room with two comfy beds and a bathroom. Comes with a small fridge and a space to hang some clothes. If you want more be prepared to pay more elsewhere. But if this suits your needs this place can't be beat.
