Tacabi, formerly Koi, is my absolute favorite sushi restaurant in Boise. Everytime I visit, I am always treated with the best in food and service. The staff there is very helpful and friendly, even though the menu is a little intimidating. I have been enjoying sushi for over 5 years, and Tacabi has really put things over the top with their creative chefs and beautifully presented plates. Went on a Friday night - ambiance very nice - friendly but if you want to eat do not go here. Waited 1 hr for 3 sushi rolls and left without being served and hungry!! Was told its a Friday night - be patient.
The ambiance and service was amazing, no complaints. Sushi was average. Have had better in Boise without the ambiance. The sushi menu was hard to read. The rolls could be a little more creative.
I went with a friend to check out the sister restaurant of Mai Thai called Koi. Knowing that Mai Thai is an amazing place to eat, I hoped Koi would be equally as good. Well, I was right!
