Lack of taste My husband and I wanted to go out to a new place to eat because we were tired of the same old thing. Figuring that since we were going to a movie later in Hendersonville, we thought it would be convenient to go to Kohana. The place was very empty but considering it was a Sunday, we were not really surprised. The place has a nice Asian flare, but I was left feeling cold with the white paint and dark blue seats. The food is great and it always been. It's been my favorite sushi spot since I first came in 3 yrs ago or so. Definitely worth the money.
We ordered teriyaki chicken and fried rice and I was sorely disappointed when I got home to discover I was given a piece of plain grilled chicken and white rice. Every other Japanese restaurant I've ever been to has given me a mix of rice, veggies and chicken in teriyaki sauce so to get chicken that my four year old thought was a quesadilla was very maddening. Will not be back.
One of my hobbies is trying sushi at different places that I travel. From London, NYC, LA and Hawaii- Kohana is one of the very best!
