Was in Madison on a college tour for our son and realized I'd left my knitting at home in Minneapolis. A quick Google search turned up this cute shop just a mile from campus. Jackie was very welcoming and quickly helped me pick a project to take on the road for the rest of the Thanksgiving holiday. So glad I found this gem of a shop! Fun store, great service, loads of inventory and lovely location. Thank you Jackie, it was great meeting you. I hope to return again!
Beautiful yarn and beautiful store. I have loved going to the Knitting Tree for about 35 years and am really impressed with the new location.
I took my first knitting class here over 6 years ago. Fast forward and I'm obsessed with knitting. I love this shop. I always intrigued by the revolving selection and grateful for the cheerful help when I get stuck on a project. Sometimes I come to sit and knit -and enjoy the other ladies that do the same. It's fun to see a community of makers gather in such a colorful way, literally.
Sorry the previous post was disappointed but I think there is ALOT more to running a small business than we can imagine!!! The people treat everyone like family and thrive on customer service. Now I'm on the other side of the isle and LOVE stoping in as a customer. They always help me find the perfect pattern and yarn! They are so creative with... read more

The store employee and manager would not take responsibility for this product and told me that 1) I should have known better than to knit with any yarn that has a small percent of mohair (but I have done so in the past without any problem), and that 2) "at your price point" I couldn't expect good yarn. After extended debate, for which the manager made me g... read more
