My mother had cataracts removed last year. Dr. Nelson is a first-rate surgeon and my mother had good results. My criticisms have to do with office policy. I was helping this office make money by driving my mother to the office, thinking I could drop her off and pick her up in a few hours. I was told *after* I arrived that I could not leave and come back. The reason? They had a small post-op area and sometimes people did not arrive on time to pick up patients. Went to see Dr. Nelson in mid August 23. Had made a special trip the week before to sign medical release forms so he would have my records and could prescribe proper eye drops. No one knew anything about the records and would not try to find out if they were received or requested. He wanted to schedule me for a surgical procedure that prior dr. stated was not necessary. He also wanted to prescribe eye drops without knowing what I had tried previously and had adverse reactions to. I said we'd wait until he received my records... read more
He inserted a stent into my left eye for Glaucoma pressure. My eye was severely damaged for about 3 months.
I opted to have one lens nearsighted, the other farsighted. Not a single problem after several years of intensive computer use, reading, driving, etc. (without glasses). I would not have opted for this without my confidence in Dr. Nelson. (He also performed lens replacement for my wife).
A truly confidence inspiring surgeon and a true Christian gentleman.
I can only say! HE WAS GREAT!! It has been several years ago that he put Lense in both eyes and sang the whole time he did them as well as his help ! It was a Blessed experiance!!
