I am a long time customer of Kingan HH and Merrit HH. I was at Kingan HH on December 23 and 24 2025. Both days PATTI was on the cash. Patti was abrupt when I asked a question and was overall unfriendly. One interaction, ok I might think she was having a bad day, but two days in a row!! On those two days PATTI was not a positive representative of YOUR DOWNTOWN HARDWARE STORE.
Staff are always friendly and helpful, discussing ideas with you and how to carry them out. They may even make adjustments to an item, if that will do as much as a new part. Such wonderful kindness.
Purchased a horrible product, unusable, had to try to use it to find that out. Came back within the hour, would not refund or do anything to make up for it because it had been used. I've been a regular customer for over 30yrs, not anymore.

I've been visiting this Home Hardware location for almost two years now, regularly getting keys copied and receiving a student discount every time—until today. When I went in to copy some keys, I was suddenly refused the student discount. When I politely asked the cashier if she could check with her colleagues about it, she flat-out refused and said I’d have to wait for the manager tomorrow.
