Been going to Kim's since college (10 years ago)! I keep coming back because I trust him. Great for oil changes, smog checks, and also major repairs. He's never made recommendations beyond what was necessary for my car to run well (unlike the dudes at the shops that I won't name who always check your air filters and try to convince you to get new ones or to do a fluid flush that you don't really need). Been going to Kim's since giving him a shot after being tired of being upsold for expensive repairs at Midas, and happy I did. Kim is very upfront with repairs and will explain things to you so that you fully understand what needs to be done to repair your vehicle. The rates are very reasonable and fair.
Had my 2004 Honda civic over to Kim for a gasket head gasket, the work went good the car was completed as promised, a new water pump thermostat timing belt were replaced, the job was about coded to about 1/2 of others shops, I was advised that the lower control arms needed to be replace as well so I agreed to it the car is running well. I've been to Kim's twice now, and I am writing my review based on my experience with getting oil changes for two vehicles. Mr. Kim is the owner, and is the one who picks up the calls. He has been able to fit me in both times for late afternoons, and Saturdays. His facility is easy to find. It is never crowded, and I can expect to have my car serviced within minutes, and completed in less than an hour. He provides pretty fair estimates, and has a courteous demeanor. I called several different prominent mechanics in Rancho Cucamonga to get price quotes for replacing all four struts on my car. Every other place I contacted quoted between $840-$950. Kim's Auto Repair was the only place that made the calls to find out the cost of parts to give me an accurate estimate. Finding a trustworthy auto repair shop that you know is trustworthy is something that happens to very few people in life. If you are ever fortunate to find one, then you need to hold on to it for dear life. I, for one, will definitely be latching my fingers onto Kim's Auto Repair for as long as I live. I needed an oil change and both my air filters replaced on my 09 corolla. I was looking for a good honest shop because my last shop I felt want being completely upfront with me. this is a good shop with great prices and works really hard to meet your deadline. good mechanics and repairs done right. I take all of my cars to him and never have to bring them back for the same problem
